Political activism is critical to the ongoing success of labor unions and our country. No money from Machinists union membership dues goes to support political candidates. Instead, the Machinists union created the Machinists Non-Partisan Political League (MNPL). Fundraisers and donations from union members fund the MNPL. The MNPL is Non-Partisan and will endorse candidates regardless of their party affiliation as long as they stand for working family issues. The MNPL scrutinizes each candidate thoroughly. They ask tough questions such as their positions on trade, labor law reform, economic conversion, transportation policies, and enhancement of the U.S. manufacturing base.
